If you want to contribute to our work but cannot afford to donate we also appreciate volunteer labor and in-kind donations of goods or
services. Write mdavidhe@yahoo.com to discuss such contributions.
Donors will receive a letter confirming receipt of the allocated funds and thanking them for their generous assistance. Unless
donors request anonymity, they will also be recognized on the APCN website and in APCN publications.
APCN depends on the generosity of donors and volunteers to develop and implement its various activities and projects. APCN
appreciates its supporters and wishes to accommodate their preferences; please feel free to share your thoughts with us.
Undesignated funds are greatly needed and appreciated; however, donors can specify that their contribution be used for one of the
following activity categories:
1. Scholarship fund:
Funds will be used to support prospective African students who have great promise as scholars and peacebuilders, but who are
unable to afford the tuition at NSU's Dept. of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (see shss.nova.edu for information on the Department).
2. Peacebuilding and post-conflict reconstruction project work:
Funds will be used to enable conflict prevention and transformation work by APCN volunteers or affiliates by supporting their travel
and/or living expenses. The volunteers will work on APCN approved or sponsored projects in Africa or for Africa-based APCN partner
organizations engaged in peacebuilding.
3. Research on peacebuilding and conflict in Africa:
Funds will support studies by APCN members aimed at increasing understanding of African conflicts and building peacebuilding
capacities.
4. APCN's publications initiative and African Conflict Database:
Funds will be used to enhance APCN's publication work by, for example, enabling the hiring of paid editorial staff and producing hard
copies of APCN publications.
5. APCN lecture series, symposia, and special training workshops:
Funds will be used to set up an APCN lecture series, produce symposia, or hold skills training workshops. Funds will primarily be
used to reimburse travel expenses of distinguished presenters and to provide honorariums to trainers.
6. APCN capacity building
Upon request, larger gifts can be used to create named programs honoring the donor or a person of their choice (such as a family
member or a person the donor admires).
On behalf of the members of our burgeoning organization, I offer our heartfelt thanks for your assistance. It is the kind generosity of
persons such as yourself that enables this organization to help suffering persons and promote peace and harmony in the cradle of
humanity, the continent where our species first emerged.
